  • Food Jewelry?

I recently came across this website of food jewelry that I felt the need to post about.. mostly b/c I know I have a couple of friends for which this type of accessory is MOST appropriate (you know who you are!).  www.thewholeslicejewelry.com has miniatures of food items as earrings, in cute pairs like cookies&milk and a burger&fries.    The nigiri is probably the most elaborate but while I love my maguro and sake, I don't know if I want dead fish hanging from my ears.  I also love the concept of the smores, but is it just me or does the hershey bar look like poo??  You gotta give credit to the artist/creator who is a Princeton grad for her creative kitschy-ness.  You just have to wonder if hordes of folks will buy $35 veggie platter jewelry to help pay off her student loans...!

  • Shopping for a wedding gown... at Target?

Wow - this brings upscale designer fashion for everyday people to a whole new level!  In the on-going trend of asking couture and high-end designers to design special collections for inexpensive retailers (think Stella McCartney for H&M, Abaete for Payless, etc.), Target has reached a whole new level.  To complement the existing resident designer - Isaac Mizrahi - and the rotating set of up-and-coming designers that Target hosts in its stores, they're now launching WEDDING DRESSES designed by Mr. Mizrahi himself.  These gowns will only be available online starting this month.  No early indications as to the price range, but I'm hoping to see something in the $100-$250 range.  After all, if you can get wedding gowns at J. Crew for under $300, Target has to find the right niche.  Plus it goes with their whole "cheap and chic" allure!

In other wedding-related news, by good friend Jen is now a weddingbee.com blogger!  I *loved* this site while I was planning my wedding... back when it was just Korean New Yorkers who were blogging =)  Now weddingbee has expanded to multiple cities and many more bloggers.

I'm not quite sure why I've got weddings on the mind... I think it's because we just went to our first wedding of the season last week (congrats Ev and Jason!) and have one a month (sometimes two) from now until October.  There's something in the water... What's next, everyone having babies?!?!?
